East Council Creek Natural Area sits along Northwest Hobbs Road in northeast Cornelius and protects portions of Council Creek and provides habitat for fish and wildlife. With money from voter investments, Metro created plans for potential public access to the 33-acre natural area.
At open houses throughout the course of the project, Metro asked neighbors and community members about amenities they would like to see at East Council Creek Natural Area. These may include a parking area, picnic facilities, nature trail, interpretive signage and places to play.
