Description of facility and application

Best Buy in Town (BBIT) operates a yard debris reload facility in Hillsboro. BBIT accepts yard debris, leaves, and land clearing debris for reloading, processing and transporting to composting facilities. The facility also accepts wood waste for reloading and use as boiler fuel. BBIT is a locally-owned company that that has been operating under a Metro license since July 1998. BBIT’s license will expire on June 30, and it has submitted a complete application to Metro for a license renewal with no changes to its authorization.

According to the city of Hillsboro, the proposed use is allowed.
