Beginning in November 2014, members of the community, organizational stakeholders and Metro's Parks and Nature team came together to discuss ideas and make recommendations for safe access to Killin Wetlands Natural Area.
Two open houses at the Banks Fire Station gave community members the opportunity to review and provide feedback on alternatives and the recommended design.
Approximately 45 people attended the first meeting in February 2015 to learn about site features, history and preliminary options for the future. In May 2015, about 20 community members attended a second meeting to review a refined concept for Killin Wetlands. Feedback from the public shaped minor tweaks – and the final design.
