Join an employee resource group
Metro's Employee Resource Groups (ERG) provide paid time and space for employees with shared life experiences to socialize, network and support one another around topics of common interest. The groups are entirely employee-led and run. Each group defines their own goals and decides how they spend their time together. Activities range from organizing social events to offering guidance to senior leadership on key workplace issues. Joining a group will both expand your network and help you become aware of new leadership opportunities. Additionally, the groups are a great place to gain practice leading teams and planning and running meetings.
There are currently three ERG groups for People of Color, LGBTQIAS2+ and Black staff.
How to join
Let your manager know you’d like to participate and plan to come to an upcoming meeting. You can use up to two hours of paid work time to attend each meeting.
Want to join more than one ERG? No problem! Many people count themselves among multiple communities and employees can join more than one group.
To share questions, concerns, or to join a group, contact an ERG co-lead at [email protected].
