In her 11 years gardening at the Colonel Summers Community Garden in Southeast Portland, Linda Brown has never used any chemicals.
And, she'll tell you, her garden grows just fine.
"No pesticides... that's the policy," she said.
"In many cases pesticide-free gardening is the easiest way to go," said Carl Grimm, a natural gardening expert at Metro.
Grimm says there is really no need for gardeners to use pesticides, which can be risky for kids and pets.
He says you can have a healthy and chemical-free garden by following these simple steps.
