Metro is now accepting applications for Metro Central Enhancement Grants to support programs benefitting communities in Northwest Portland. Those interested in receiving a grant can attend an information session on Tuesday, August 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Metro, 600 NE Grand Ave.

The grants are intended for projects that enhance the lives of people who live near Metro Central transfer station. Residents and workers in the neighborhoods of Forest Park, Cathedral Park and Linnton; the Northwest District Association, the Northwest Industrial Area and an area directly adjacent to the St. Johns Bridge. Close to $300,000 is available from community enhancement fees collected at the Metro Central transfer station.
Metro encourages applications for projects that use a racial equity lens, and that inspire leadership and the substantial involvement of people of color, immigrants, elders, youth, those with disabilities, low-income residents and other underrepresented groups.
