Suttle Road Recovery Facility
4044 N. Suttle Road
Portland, OR 97217
Recology Portland, Inc. has submitted an application for a renewed Metro solid waste facility license to operate a material recovery facility and residential food waste reload. The facility’s current license expires June 30, 2015.
If renewed, the license would allow Suttle Road Recovery Facility to continue to operate a material recovery facility that accepts and sorts construction and demolition debris, such as wood, metals, plastics and concrete for the purpose of recovering recyclable materials. A renewed license would allow Suttle Road Recovery Facility to continue to accept residential yard debris mixed with food waste for consolidation and transfer to authorized composting facilities. All waste related activities will be conducted within an enclosed building. Suttle Road Recovery Facility holds a current permit issued by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to conduct waste related activities.
The site is located within a Heavy Industrial zone (IHch) with Environmental Conservation and Aircraft Landing overlay zones and the proposed use has been approved by the city of Portland in accordance with a Conditional Use decision.
