Metro is required to document funded projects scheduled to use federal funds over the next four years. The current cycle is documented in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
Metro is in receipt of the proposed MTIP formal amendments:
The purpose of this amendment is to make the necessary funding corrections, increases and fund reprogramming to the 2024-27 MTIP. This amendment adds seven new project awards to meet federal delivery requirements:
- Removal of ODOT's I‐84: Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Blvd ‐ I‐205 project.
- Funding for the Regional Travel Options program which will provide grants and supporting efforts that increase walking, biking, ride sharing, telecommuting and public transit use.
- New funding for signing upgrades on regional corridors for safety and maintenance improvements.
- Funding for Tualatin River Water Trail Access Enhancements project. The project is located on the Metro Pedestrian and Bicycle networks resulting in its classification as a regionally significant project.
- Funding to respond to urgent safety concerns throughout Clackamas, Hood River, Multnomah and Washington counties.
- Additional funding for the construction phase of a project at various locations on OR 141 (Hall Blvd) and Southwest 72nd Ave in the Tigard area where ADA compliant curbs and ramps will be constructed.
- Additional funding for enhanced pedestrian and bike crossings on Powell Blvd in Southeast Portland.
