Metro is required to document funded projects scheduled to use federal funds over the next four years. The current cycle is documented in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
Metro is in receipt of the proposed MTIP formal amendments:
The purpose of this amendment is to make the necessary funding corrections, increases and fund reprogramming to the 2024-27 MTIP. This amendment adds or amends 11 project awards to meet federal delivery requirements:
- Additional funding to complete project planning for the Tualatin Valley Highway Transit and Development Project
- New funding for targeted Safe Routes to School interventions focused on Roosevelt High School and nearby schools
- New funding for a safety assessment of Harrison Street corridor
- New funding for TriMet, for federal fiscal year 2026, to enhance service for seniors and individuals with disabilities
- New funding for TriMet, for federal fiscal year 2027, to enhance service for seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Additional funding to correct a 2025 federal fiscal year allocation mistake with regards to funding for TriMet's enhanced services for seniors and individuals with disabilities
- New funds to support the West Coast Truck Charging and Fueling Corridor Project. This project will create charging and hydrogen fueling stations for zero-emission medium- and heavy-duty vehicles along freight routes in California, Oregon and Washington.
- Funding to improve safety infrastructure along Washington Street in Oregon City, from Abernethy Road to Metro South Transfer Station
- Funding to complete the planning and design for safety investments on 82nd Avenue, from Northeast Lombard Street to Southeast Clatsop, such as raised center medians, a pedestrian signal and full traffic signals
- New funds to improve light rail connectivity along 185th Avenue New technology deployed on Light Rail Vehicles will connect to traffic signals increasing efficiency, safety and reliability of service
- New funding for Tualatin to expand the electric vehicle charging network across the North Willamette Valley
