Thermo Fluids, Inc. has submitted an application for a renewed solid waste facility license to operate a non-putrescible reload facility. If approved, the renewed license would allow Thermo Fluids to continue to accept and reload non-hazardous cleanup material from chemical spills and other non-hazardous contaminated debris such as absorbent media, used motor filters, petroleum-contaminated soil, petroleum grease, non-putrescible sludges from cleanups, empty drums and other containers. These materials will be accepted at the facility for consolidation and transfer to an authorized disposal site. All waste reloading activities will be conducted within an enclosed building.
The applicant has operated under Metro authorization since 2004. The site is located within a Light Industrial Zone (LI) and the proposed use is has been approved by the local land use authority.
