Glendoveer is one of Metro’s most visited park facilities – a gem in East Multnomah county that offers activities for golfers, tennis players and walkers and a green oasis for neighbors.
Metro contracts with a private operator to run the golf and tennis facilities; the current operations contract expires this year and Metro is seeking community input on selecting a new one. An Opt In online survey will come out Monday, June 18, asking the community to weigh in on their priorities for improvements at Glendoveer.
Survey results will help Metro prioritize what is important for a new operations contract and develop a request for proposal, slated to go out in early July. A citizen review panel will review proposals and provide guidance on submittals to move forward to the interview phase. The final decision to award an operations contract will be made by the Metro Council. Join Opt In to share your thoughts about Glendoveer. The survey will end on June 27 so sign up before then.
After listening to public input about the future of Glendoveer, the Metro Council confirmed in 2011 that the 242-acre site will continue to offer two golf courses, a driving range, pro shop, tennis center, restaurant and fitness trail. Metro will focus on improving the property and developing a business plan to best meet the needs of the community and responsibly manage the property.
