Metro contracted with Portland State University’s Community Environmental Services program between January and June 2008 to deliver an educational campaign to single-family households throughout the Portland metropolitan area about residential recycling.
The goal of the Metro Residential Recycling Campaign was to reduce the placement of non-recyclable materials in curbside recycling containers by monitoring the contents of the containers and leaving fliers, called “leave behinds,” at containers to inform residents about the proper preparation of curbside recycling containers.
