Click, comment and shape the future of transit. A new interactive map gives anyone the power to share ideas for making transit faster and more reliable between Portland and Gresham.
The Powell-Division Transit and Development Project will be a first for our region: a bus rapid transit project connecting growing and diverse neighborhoods in Southeast Portland, East Portland and Gresham.
But how? There are a lot of choices left to make, including:
- Where should the line transition from SE Powell Boulevard to Division Street in Southeast Portland?
- How should the line connect to Downtown Gresham and how could it connect to Mount Hood Community College?
- How should transit cross the Willamette River – the Tilikum Crossing or Ross Island Bridge?
The experiences of people who live and travel between Portland and Gresham will guide these choices. And now there's a new way to weigh in: an easy-to-use interactive map where users can zoom, click and share insights about the options on the table.

Decision makers need to know what you think. Which route could best serve jobs, students and commuters? Which will be best for the neighborhoods along the line, and for people walking, bicycling and driving?
Go to the map to share your ideas now. But hurry – the current comment period closes March 4.
Share ideas in person
Want to talk with project staff and share your ideas in person? A February 12 open house and workshop in Gresham attracted over 50 people. The project is holding several more workshops and open houses in coming weeks:
Feb. 17 East Portland hands-on workshop and open house
East Garden Restaurant, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Feb. 28 East/Southeast Portland hands-on workshop and open house
Fubonn, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
March 10 Southeast Portland open house
Cleveland High School cafeteria, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
On March 16, the Powell-Division steering committee will meet in Gresham to reflect on what project planners have heard, and to advance several refined options for further study. New transit could be running along the corridor as soon as 2020.
