A new program in Washington County aims to leverage the knowledge and empathy of people who have experienced homelessness or housing instability to help others in the same situation, by preparing them for careers in the housing services field in Washington County. The program's funding comes from the Metro's supportive housing services fund.

Terrace Glen Apartments brings more affordable homes to Tigard

This Thursday, the Housing Authority of Washington County and Related Northwest hosted a celebration to mark the opening of Terrace Glen Apartments in Tigard. The new development brings 144 affordable apartment homes to the area. Metro’s housing bond paid for $17.5 million and Metro’s transit-oriented development program (TOD) paid for $500,000 of the $51.2 million building.

Representatives from Metro and its partner agencies gathered on Tuesday, April 4 to celebrate the grand opening of the Hattie Redmond Apartments in North Portland’s Kenton neighborhood. This new apartment community will provide 60 permanent, stable homes with services for people who have experienced homelessness. The project is funded in part by Metro’s affordable housing bond, with services paid for by Metro’s supportive housing services fund.
