Metro strives to be a welcoming and inclusive place for people of all abilities. It wants to ensure people can access and enjoy Metro venues, parks, programs and services without any barriers. Metro’s vision is to transform structures and processes not only to identify and remove barriers to access and participation but also to center the experiences of disabilities communities and their needs.
Goals of the Committee on Disability Inclusion
- Apply an intersectional accessibility lens to the way Metro makes decisions and adopts practices and procedures, especially in areas that most affect people with disabilities.
- Strengthen long-term relationships and connections between Metro and community partners and organizations that support and advocate for people with disabilities.
- Improve the outcomes and experiences for people with disabilities any time they access Metro programs, services, activities, and facilities.
