Oregon is well-known for its persistent rainy weather. But we are almost as well-known for our love of biking. Bicycling can be something of a soggy adventure this time of year, but it doesn’t take much to ride comfortably in the rain.
This spring, don’t let rainy days keep you off your bike. Metro Drive Less Save More and our partners salute those pedaling around town on grey and rainy days – and encourage everyone to give wet weather riding a try.
Riding your bike on a wet and dreary day is often about conquering the chill and defeating drizzle, but it’s also about finding rainbows and keeping the pounds off. That’s what makes wet weather biking worth it.
Jump on your bike this spring and earn your Wet Weather Rider merit badges to call out your favorite rainy day adventure. Are you a Rainbow Finder? A Cloudburst Crusader or a Puddle Evader? Collect all six badges to show your fortitude to withstanding the wet.
You can find free merit badges and Wet Weather Rider tip sheets at all Bike Gallery locations and other select bike shops throughout the greater Portland area, plus from our regional transportation options partners.

We’re excited to partner with Bike Gallery and Bicycle Transportation Alliance to reward Wet Weather Riders April 15 to May 1, 2013. Just post pictures of you conquering the rain to the Wet Weather Rider Facebook event page, and the images with the most "likes" will win rain and reflective gear from Bike Gallery.
