Metro’s public engagement review process is getting an update.
In response to the changing nature of communications and public involvement — and building on Metro’s commitment to serve all residents of the region — Metro is launching an updated public engagement review process that features an annual public stakeholder summit, semi-annual meetings of a peer group of public-involvement professionals, and a standing public-engagement committee.
The Metro Council will consider the proposed public-engagement review process at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24. The council will also take public testimony on Ordinance 12-1275. For more information, check the meeting packet.
Following adoption, Metro will select a nine-member Public Engagement Review Committee to represent diverse interests across the region. The committee's duties will include guiding and reviewing Metro’s project- and program-level engagement activities throughout the year. The committee will consist of public involvement staff from Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties, at-large community members, and representatives of community organizations.
