The mission of the Transit-Oriented Development Steering Committee is to create vibrant downtowns and main streets through public and private partnerships, investments and incentives for key development projects located near transit, and provide support for other alternative forms of transportation, such as walking and biking.
The committee makes recommendations to Metro Council regarding TOD grants, and decisions regarding developer selection and development features for sites that the Metro TOD program owns. Metro's Chief Operating Officer appoints people to the committee. Committee member appointments are three-year terms.
The TOD steering committee typically meets from 3 to 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.
