Metro is working to remove barriers that people with disabilities may experience when they visit Metro destinations, participate in Metro programs, weigh in on Metro policies and projects, and seek Metro information online.
Metro facilities and programs
Removing barriers for people with disabilities requires continually evaluating the accessibility of Metro's facilities, programs, and practices. Metro actively works to remove barriers identified through this evaluation process. Metro's Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Program staff monitor and track Metro's self-evaluation and transition plan activities. This work not only addresses the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act but also supports Metro's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. By prioritizing these values, we can create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
The Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Program team ensures systems are in place for a coordinated approach to accessibility and disability inclusion across all Metro services and locations and report to Metro's chief operating officer.
