Metro is accepting applications for its Community Placemaking grants program for 2018. Strong applications propose projects that involve community partnerships, strengthen social ties to one another and the places where we live, work and play, support leadership roles for people of color and use art as a tool for engagement and change.
A total of $160,000 is available for the 2018 grant cycle.
Metro is dedicating up to $60,000 to projects proposed in or related to communities in the Southwest Corridor, which includes the cities of Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Durham, King City and portions of Southwest Portland, Beaverton and unincorporated Washington County.
The rest of the $100,000 is open to projects proposed across other parts of greater Portland. Groups throughout the region are encouraged to apply.
Applications are due at noon on Feb. 2.
