The construction sector in the Portland Metro region continues to boom – and in a variety of ways.
Metro and the city of Portland jointly commissioned a study in 2017 to research the construction field, a high-growth industry due to business and infrastructure developments tied to the economic recovery. According to the study, the number of construction-related jobs in the Portland Metro region is predicted to climb through 2026, with nearly 9,000 new jobs becoming available. Many more skilled workers – already in short supply, according to labor market reports – will be needed.
