Metro is required to document funded projects scheduled to use federal funds over the next four years. The current cycle is documented in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
Metro is in receipt of the proposed MTIP formal amendments:
The purpose of this amendment is to make the necessary funding corrections, increases and fund reprogramming to the 2024-27 MTIP. This amendment adds five new projects and amends one project awards to meet federal delivery requirements:
- New funding for preliminary engineering on the Portland Streetcar Montgomery Park Extension project. Funding will extend the route 0.65 miles on 23rd Avenue to Roosevelt Street, looping around to 26th Avenue and Wilson Street, including track, stations, stormwater mitigation and up to 10 hybrid streetcars.
- New funding and grouping of projects for ADA curb ramp construction.
- Funding re-added for the I-5 Interstate Bridge Electrical Components project, which will restore electrical components to their original locations so that they can be connected permanently.
- New funding for Clackamas County to update its existing Transportation Safety Action Plan and align the plan with the Safe Streets for All Action Plan requirements.
- A reduction in capital funding for urbanized area public transit services that address the special needs of seniors and other transit-dependent populations.
