The proposed Southwest Corridor light rail project could one day connect Portland State University to Bridgeport Village. As the proposed project proceeds into a detailed environmental impact review, a committee of community members will play an important role in guiding its progress.
Now is the time to apply to join.
The Community Advisory Committee will advise the project steering committee and staff by bringing a broad perspective on community and social issues throughout the Southwest Corridor during the review and the selection of the final light rail route, station areas, park-and-rides and related biking, walking and roadway projects.
The committee is expected to include balanced representation from communities along the proposed light rail route. Committee members will be selected by project staff and appointed by the project steering committee based on their experience, local knowledge and the people they can meaningfully represent. Each committee member is expected to bring a unique perspective balanced with a corridor-wide vision.
Committee members will likely meet monthly beginning in early 2017 through spring 2018.
