Efforts to contain a wildfire on Government Island have prompted the closure of Metro's M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp.
The Gleason ramp is being used as a staging area for fire crews who are fighting the blaze on Government Island, which is about four miles upriver from Gleason.
Firefighters are also staging at the Chinook Landing Marine Park in Fairview, but that boat ramp remains open as of 3 p.m. Aug. 19.
