Four hundred of the fastest high school cross country runners gathered at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis Center on Dec. 5 to compete in the Nike Cross Nationals.
It was the second year that Glendoveer hosted the prestigious competition after also hosting it in 2014.
The 5K course weaved through Glendoveer's fir-lined fairways and gently rolling hills, providing runners a scenic -- albeit muddy -- challenge. After the girls and boys races, local residents were also able to test their fitness on the course during a community race.
Revisit the excitement of the day with a selection of photos by Joshua Manus.
Metro, the regional government agency, owns the 231-acre site. The site includes a 36-hole daily fee golf facility with four indoor tennis courts, an 18-hole foot golf course, and a covered, heated and lit driving range. Foot golf, played with a soccer ball on the golf course, is also available.
Glendoveer has a fully stocked golf and tennis pro shop in the clubhouse along with an outdoor patio and seating area. Professional staff also offer tennis and golf lessons.
The popular RingSide Grill is also at Glendoveer.
