Metro is required to document funded projects scheduled to use federal funds over the next four years. The current cycle is documented in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
Metro is in receipt of the proposed MTIP formal amendments:
The purpose of this amendment is to make the necessary funding corrections, increases and fund reprogramming to the 2024-27 MTIP. This amendment adds or amends seven project awards as well as cancels one existing Oregon Department of Transportation project to meet federal delivery requirements:
- Removal of funds for a project to purchase and install electric vehicle wall mount chargers for the Beaverton School District.
- Complete project development activities in support of the planned new 82nd Avenue Bus Rapid Transit project. This includes preliminary design, addressing environmental (NEPA) requirements, development of Federal Transit Administration rating materials and other activities needed to assist TriMet obtain a Small Starts Grant.
- Funding is available for projects focused on transportation activities which reduce the emissions of carbon and greenhouse gases from transportation.
- Funding is available to study and evaluate the development of future transit transportation corridors in the Metro region.
- Construct to American with Disabilities Act standards, curbs and ramps at multiple locations along OR-47, OR-8, and US-30 to reduce mobility barriers and make state highways more accessible to people with disabilities.
- Support for mobility management activities, purchase of services, operating, and preventive maintenance on vehicles for services focused on the elderly and people with disabilities within the Portland Urbanized Area in federal FY 2024.
- Support for mobility management activities, purchase of services, operating, and preventive maintenance on vehicles for services focused on the elderly and people with disabilities within the Portland Urbanized Area in federal FY 2025.
- Construct improvements at OR-43/Marylhurst Drive in West Linn. A signalized intersection will provide separation for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists and improve overall safety of the roadway.
