The Southwest Corridor Steering Committee will consider final recommendations that support the communities’ vision and address transportation challenges in the area. Metro staff will present the recommendations Monday, July 22nd from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Tigard Library to the committee, which is comprised of local elected officials and Metro, ODOT and TriMet representatives.
The recommendations, created with extensive community input and technical research, address transportation and growth issues and reflect community desires for safe, unique and green neighborhoods where people can easily walk, bike, take transit and drive.
Following approval, the Southwest Corridor Steering Committee will look to local jurisdictions to adopt the recommendations. Moving forward, Metro staff – in collaboration with project partners – will refine the plan with further study of high capacity transit options and routes that best serve the community’s needs.
