The population of greater Portland has continued to grow in recent years. By 2045, more than 2 million people will be living in the region. It is time to update the Regional Transportation Plan – the region's vision for the many ways people and businesses will move around now and for the next 25 years – by motor vehicle, bus and rail, biking, walking and more.
Metro updates the Regional Transportation Plan every five years to address the transportation needs of the people who live, work and travel in the region today, while preparing for our future transportation needs. The plan was last updated in 2018 and this update will be complete in 2023.
The first public survey for the 2023 Regional Transportation Plan is now live and will be open until April 4, 2022. The interactive survey is available in English and Spanish and in a downloadable text-only document on the project page: oregonmetro.gov/rtp
The results of the survey will help to inform the priorities and goals in the 2023 Regional Transportation Plan. This survey is the first of many opportunities for people in the greater Portland region to help shape the 2023 Regional Transportation Plan.
